This six-part series focuses on conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and using data to create and implement function-based Positive Behavior Support plans. It is intended as an overview of a comprehensive, evidence-based method of interpreting and accurately responding to students’ challenging behavior in a way that supports their strengths and growth as well as reduces distractions to their learning. This course takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
This course was developed by the DC Special Education Cooperative (Co-op) with support from the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education. Your Instructor
As a provider and advocate in the field of special education and behavior analysis for over 20 years, Meghan served as educator, coordinator, director, and founder. She extensively served children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as students with genetic disorders and Emotional Disability. Meghan is skilled at consulting with families and school districts around inclusive practices, individualized education, and behavior support. In her role as Behavior Specialist at the Co-op, Meghan provided professional development sessions and coaching around behavior analysis, authored function-based positive behavior support plans, and created collaborative systems of support for youth.
