Co-Teaching is an inclusive practice that allows for co-planning and co-taught instruction that combines content and specialized instruction expertise. Research demonstrates that co-teaching is a highly effective method for improving outcomes for students with disabilities because it allows easier access to the general education curriculum in an environment with same-age, non-disabled peers.
This course is intended to help co-teaching partners build the skills necessary to plan and effectively deliver instruction using the co-teaching models.
Co-teaching partners will get the most out of this course by watching the modules together and using the content as a springboard for discussions and planning. In particular, Module 1: Relationship Building, contains interactive experiences designed for co-teaching partners to complete together. In cases where it is not possible to view the modules together, partners should set aside time to complete these interactive activities at a later date.
This course takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to complete.
